Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) Symptoms & Prevention
Langtang Valley Trekking is a high altitude trek that means there are chances of altitude sickness. However, as the elevation increases at a constant pace, you will have enough time to acclimatize. We are aware of altitude sickness and its consequences. Therefore, our itinerary is designed including enough rest days in between the trek.

Preventive measures
- Include an adequate number of rest days in the itinerary
- Keep yourself hydrated
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages
- Do not gain more than 500 meters in a day
- Try to spend the night in lower altitude
- Acclimatize properly at a lower altitude
- Inform your guide immediately if any of the symptoms you see
- Do not push yourself
Langtang Valley Trek difficulty
Langtang Valley Trek is an easy to moderate level trek. The best thing about this trek is that altitude increases gradually at a constant pace. This helps to avoid altitude sickness. On a daily basis, you walk for around 5 to 6 hours. The trail can get steep, rocky, and forested on the way. Anyone can go on this trek because you do not need to have prior trekking experience.
Best time to go to Langtang Valley Trek
Like any other treks, March to May- Spring, and October to November- Autumn is the most preferable time to go on Langtang Valley Trek 13 Days. During Spring, thousands of flowers enhance the entire region, whereas autumn carries a zest of chillness in the air along with making the region ready for greeting winter.
Likewise, Winter (December to February) and Monsoon (June to September) are not so good time of the year to go on Langtang Valley Trekking. Heavy rainfall makes the trail slippery and vies unclear, whereas winter brings the intense cold with itself.
Accommodation during Langtang Valley Trek
On Langtang Valley Trek 13 Days, you stay overnight in a guesthouse, which is run by local families. The rooms are like any other room you will find in the house of a local family. This makes you experience the lifestyle of locals here. Talking more about the room, it generally comes on a twin-sharing basis with little furniture, bed, blanket, and pillow. Also, washrooms are generally common.
Food & Water on Langtang Valley Trek
You will have meals as per the menu of the guesthouse. You can find foods like porridge, pudding, toasts, eggs, pancakes, soups, dal bhat, veggies, curries, pickles, noodles, pasta, momo, etc. Yes, you will find a great variety of dishes on Langtang Valley Trek. You will also find traditional delicacies.
Boiled water is available in every guesthouse. You can refill your reusable water bottle whenever it gets empty. For extra safety, you can also carry water purification tablets. You can also find a plastic water bottle on the trail. It is processed water, not mineral water. We request you to not buy these water bottles as it will help to preserve the environment.
