Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) Symptoms & Prevention
Acute mountain sickness or altitude sickness can become a major reason to ruin any trip. It is an illness that usually occurs during a high elevation journey. The downside of AMS is anyone can suffer from it regardless of their health and physical fitness. To keep this in mind, we always include adequate rest days in our itinerary and look out to small signs for caution.

Best time to go to Poon Hill Trek
Spring and autumn are the peak time of the year to go on Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Months from March to May and October to November fall under these two seasons. The stable weather and moderate climate make the journey joyful and stimulating.
You can also go on Poonhill Trek 9 Days in winter (December to February), however, make sure to carry warm clothes to keep yourself going. Among all the months, June to September is not an ideal time to go on this trek because of monsoon.
Accommodation during Poonhill Trekking
During Poonhill Trekking, you stay overnight in a lodge. The lodge in this region offers basic facilities like a small room with a few furniture, and most of the time common washrooms. The rooms are generally on a twin-sharing basis, which means you have to share the room. If you are looking for a single room, let us know priorly, so that we can try our best to arrange one for you. However, we cannot promise you.
Food & Water on Poon Hill Trek
Meals are served as per the menu of the lodge. As it is not that of a high elevation trek, which means you will have a wide range of options for meals. From rice, soup, curries, eggs, meat, sandwich, momo to confectionery items and beverages, you will find plenty of options to dig in. With that said, dal bhaat tarkari is the most staple, filing, and affordable one.
Water is available in every lodge and tea shops. You can get boiled water from them and re-fill your water bottle. For extra safety, do carry water purification tablets. We request you not to buy plastic water bottles on the way, as it helps to reduce the waste during the trek and preserve the environment.
